Everyday Madness
[Diese Seite auf Deutsch]
How can it be that...
- on a world full of human beings humanitarianism plays no big role?
- a society of humans treats its most
vulnerable members in an inhumane
way?
- people who are in great need are labelled
"anti-social"?
- it is "rational" to be a cynic but "immature" to have positive
visions?
- we think that money, fashionable clothes, and technical gadgets make
us happy?
- we want (and get) more and more of everything and yet we grow
less and less happy?
- we think that being dumbed down by TV (and print media) is "culture"?
- social gatherings have degenerated to competitions?
- corporations have all rights of human beings, but none of their
obligations?
- capital is more important than dignity?
- there allegedly are too few work places while lots of people work
overtime?
- "independent" mass media advance only the views of a small elite?
- most people stop asking these question after leaving school?
The most important question is, of course:
"We" in this case does not mean "we as a society", but you,
me, and every individual on this planet. How can we change
our everyday lives in order to be happy and compassionate and inspire
others rather than be part of the madness?
